I knew I was an introvert long before I knew I was Autistic. I not only enjoyed my alone time, I looked forward to it. After dealing with the chaos of the day I couldn’t wait to get home and curl up somewhere to enjoy the peace of absolute quiet.

Now, of course, I know I had a much deeper reason for wanting to be alone. Not only was socializing exhausting to my introverted mind, but the general world was too much, too loud, too bright, etc., for my Autistic brain.
