Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan
The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan

The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan

I began the year finishing up the final books of the Percy Jackson and The Olympians series. The Last Olympian as the final book was amazing. To see all the plot points and the prophecy pieces laid out through the first four books to finally come all together in the last one. So satisfying.

Spoiler (but the book has been out since 2009), I liked that the prophecy was actually about both Percy and Luke. Also that Luke, as his last act, was able to redeem himself and do so with the help of Annabeth. I think I got a little teary-eyed at that ending too.

I will never again have such low expectations of a middle-grade series. I went in expecting a typical kid’s book, but it was honestly better than many adult…
