*This is more a short rant than a proper post, but I’m publishing it anyways.

The entire concept of capitalism baffles my Autistic brain. The fact that I have to work and earn money to keep a roof over my head and food in the fridge is wild. These are basic human needs we’re talking about here. And for some reason to meet those needs, it’s directly tied to how much money I make.

The concept of money alone, really, is strange to me. We invented something to upgrade the barter and trade model, yet money and currency seems out of our hands now, as if we can’t control it. But we created it?

If I didn’t have to work to meet my basic needs, I wouldn’t. I would pursue my passions: writing, creating, reading, and learning. The relief of financial security would be life-changing because the pressure to earn is debilitating.

I have no money. I’m trying to start up a business because there are so many forces in the traditional workforce space working against me.

There are numerous stories I’ve heard of people applying to hundreds of places and not hearing back from any of them. Or worse, fitting the role, not being hired, and seeing the company repost the position because they “still haven’t found the right fit.”
